This congregation in Sudan has no church and Mass must be said in the open and shows how much our help is needed there. The priests who serve the people in the Third World urgently need Mass offerings to fulfil their pastoral ministry, for these offerings are practically all they live on. Thus they can fulfil their priestly ministry.

We will send your donation to poor or persecuted priests in Eastern Europe, Asia,Africa or Latin America. They will be happy to offer Mass for your intentions. If you would like to help these priests, please send us the Mass offering that is usual in your diocese or $10.00 if you can afford it.

Last year through your generosity we were able to help priests in need in 120 countries with over 1.7 million Mass Offerings. Below is just one example of the help given.

In Congo/Rwanda in the midst of war Father X writes, "Our diocese is once again plunged into violent unrest, but our mission continues. We sense an embittered determination in our enemies to destabilise the Church. The devil is always at work. But then so are we." He then goes on to describe how two of his brother priests were while a third just managed to escape with his life, and how other priests and religious sisters were beaten and maltreated.

During 2008 we were able to support priests in need with over 1.19 million Mass Offerings. They were shared out as follows:
Africa 28%
Asia 25%
Latin America 21%
Eastern Europe 26%

The Church is frequently attacked on television. And yet the mission continues with a program of catechesis, with days of recollection for the laity and retreats for the priests, with the pastoral work in remote communities. To help them face all these tasks and obstacles, Father X appeals to us for Mass Offerings for his fellow priests. "Lastly, we ask your prayers, that none of us may become disheartened", he continues. "The situation is not easy, but the Church will never give up." We have sent him 2,000 Mass Offerings.
