Help our Future Priests by including us in your Will

We in the Western world may feel discouraged by a lack of priestly vocations, but thousands of young men around the world hunger to offer their lives to God each year.

And their numbers are steadily increasing. Over the last , few years there has been an increase in the number of seminarians studying worldwide.

But for many, it is a difficult journey of suffering, poverty, sacrifice and persecution. Frequently, there is a lack of books and food is scant; several students share one small room in the dilapidated, unheated seminaries. Some even risk arrest and imprisonment.

Without the help of Aid to the Church in Need's benefactors, countless young men would be unable to answer God's calling...

Every year, Aid to the Church in Need supports over 16,000 poor or persecuted seminarians around the world.

We have always relied on the immediate response of our benefactors to the urgent need. But priestly vocations continue to swell the seminaries: a legacy can make it possible for us to offer more help to an increasing number of these seminarians who are offering their lives to God. And if you have already made your Will, it is a simple thing to add a codicil with an additional bequest.

Please remember these future priests in your Will... and you will be remembered in their Masses. Your kindness will be remembered, too, every year by the chaplains of Aid to the Church in Need as they celebrate Holy Mass for the repose of the souls of our deceased benefactors.

1. If you are making your Will and wish to leave a bequest to help the Church in need, you can use the following form of words:

I give the sum of $..................... free of any duties, to Aid to the Church in Need (“ the Charity”) to be applied for the general purposes of the Charity. I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of the Charity shall be a full discharge for the said Legacy.

2. If you have already made your Will but would like to change it to leave a share of the residue of your estate to the Church in need, we suggest that you remake your Will. However, if you would like to leave a fixed sum, you can add a Codicil using the following wording:

I (name) of (address) declare this to be the First Codicil to my Will dated and made the .......... day of.......... Two thousand and ..........

I give $.............................. free of any duties to Aid to the Church in Need (“ the Charity”) to be applied for the general purposes of the Charity. I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of the Charity shall be a full discharge for the said Legacy. In all other respects I confirm my said Will.
