1. If you are making your Will and wish to leave a bequest to help
the Church in need, you can use the following form of words:
I give the sum of $..................... free
of any duties, to Aid to the Church in Need (“ the Charity”)
to be applied for the general purposes of the Charity. I direct
that the receipt
of the Treasurer or other proper officer of the Charity shall be
a full discharge for the said Legacy.
2. If you have already made your Will but would like to change
it to leave a share of the residue of your estate to the Church
in need, we suggest that you remake your Will. However, if you would
like to leave a fixed sum, you can add a Codicil using the following
wording:
I (name) of (address) declare this to be
the First Codicil to my Will dated and made the .......... day
of..........
Two thousand and ..........
I give $..............................
free of any duties to Aid to the Church in Need (“ the Charity”)
to be applied for the general purposes of the Charity. I direct
that the receipt of the Treasurer
or other proper officer of the Charity shall be a full discharge
for the said Legacy. In all other respects I confirm my said
Will.
AS WITNESS my hand this .......... day of
........... 20...... SIGNED
by the Testator/Testatrix ......................................................................
in our presence and then by us in his/hers
......................................................................
